When Things Take Time: Handling Delays and Frustration Becomes Very Important.
We have all been there, perhaps each one of us would deal with it differently according to one's personality and temperament.
It becomes even more challenging when its related to work or even the goals that we have for our life.
Not everything moves in the speed that we hope, sometimes projects can be postponed, progress can be very slow, plans can be delayed. It in these times, we need to take a step back and figure out how we need to respond to these situations because they are growth moment for us.
Recently something that I had planned didn't go according to my plan and it turned out to be that it's going to take longer than what I had previously anticipated. I saw it to be an opportunity on how I can remain positive despite the delay and the frustrations that I faced.
I'm sharing with you some of my learnings.
In moments like this we need to remind ourselves that we focus on
1. What we can control = That's our attitude towards life. The more positive my attitude is, the more learning I take from each situation despite the delay and the frustration. That situation is there for me to learn something new.
2. Using the waiting time = To grow in resilience and persistence because resilience and persistence is something that you learn by yourself through life experiences. I also believe that resilience and persistence are key important ingredients for success.
3. To Just Breath = Learning to breath properly during stressful times is also very important because when our body goes into stressful mode, our breathing pattern changes. When we don't breathe properly it impacts our health and I believe health also plays a vital role in our life.
4. Staying positive = Reading and listening to positive materials that helps you to maintain a positive attitude and a positive mindset because if we feel defeated and hopeless then the battle has already been lost. Why? Because you will not look at the learnings. You might end up saying why is this happening to me instead of what am I learning from this.
Remember even when things don't go according to plan, it's there that strength is quietly built.
